My name is Adele.

I'm a queer, West-Indian-American, ex-collegiate athlete who spends a lot of time thinking about how she wants to move her body and how to teach what she's geeking about.

You see, I grew up living a lot for other people. I tried to play professional soccer because I wanted to feel seen and acknowledged. Beat up my body in CrossFit because self-sacrifice and pain was honored in the gyms I frequented.

But after having a few serious injuries, I started to want to move and express the way my body was calling for. I also started to look beyond what defined me physically and started my metaphysical studies.

I discovered that I am my body and that I am also so much more. I discovered that healing was not curing, or making the painful, dark things go away, but to integrate my whole being and live from a place of authenticity.

So, currently, I love teaching bodyweight strength and flow styles AND I love guiding queer people of color (and their friends) in understanding themselves better through metaphysics (i.e. energy work).

By the way, I love anime, yuri manga, and my wife and daughter (they are the cutest).

PS: I used to be a full-time journalist and still consider myself to be a writer y'all. Check my portfolio here.
